Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 5, 2026

This policy explains how "TripDiary" (the "App") collects, uses, and stores your information.

1. Information we collect

ItemHow it is collectedPurpose
Trip content (trip name, dates, places, times, notes, reference links) Entered by you in the App To provide the App's core feature — trip planning
Cover images Attached by you in the App Shown on the trip list and detail screens
Anonymous identifier (anonymous UID) Created automatically when you use "Share as an online link" To identify the owner of a shared trip so only they can update it

The App has no sign-up or sign-in. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other information that directly identifies you.

2. Where your information is stored

Your trips and cover images are stored only in your device's internal storage by default and are not sent to any server.

The one exception is when you choose "Share as an online link" on a trip. That trip's content is then uploaded to Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) so that anyone who has the link can view it as read-only. If you never use that feature, no data leaves your device. Google's Privacy Policy also applies to data handled by Firebase.

3. Sharing with third parties

We do not provide or sell your information to third parties for advertising, analytics, marketing, or any other purpose. Data you share online is processed only through Google Firebase, which acts as our infrastructure provider.

4. Retention and deletion

  • Uninstalling the App deletes all local data (trips, cover images, and so on) stored on your device.
  • A trip you shared online is deleted automatically from the server after at least 30 days. If the trip ends later than that, it is kept until 7 days after the trip ends, and in no case longer than one year. Sharing the trip again restarts the retention period from that moment.
  • If you want a shared trip removed before it expires, email us the trip title and the share link at the address below and we will delete it.
  • Only the owner can change an online-shared trip. Anyone with the link can read it, and the full list of shared trips can never be browsed.

5. Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Permissions

The App requests only the internet permission, which it uses for online sharing and for fetching link previews. It does not request access to your location, camera, contacts, or any other sensitive permission.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will post the update on this page.
